DJ Deluge's Philosophies from Under and Beyond

The fuel and drive behind my show Forefront Hip-Hop has been and always will be the contnued oppression and exploitation of you and I. Whether in the workplace, in the streets, or just watching TV. My inspiration to denounce the government stems from feeling exploited by watching the elite people that are making money flash it out in front of us in videos made by white corporate owned production companies, and also the fact that there are not many people in media that are like me or even have the same opprotunities to do what I do, which is play the music that gets no airplay on clear channel communication owned radio stations but should.
The J-Live and Mr. Lif tracks that are so meaningful, poetic and protest inspiring are much of the drive for my show. The track that I have made token to play on my show has been "What would you do" by Paris who in this song denounces the war on Iraq and the current war on terrorism as not only a way for the Bush Family to profit heavily with their oil interests in the middle east, but also to continue to keep us oppressed while taking away many of our civil rights written out in the constitution via the Patriot Act, while completely stripping certain nationalities and ethnicites of theirs.
To me, life is not about being fake its about being real, its about finding truth, and its about being happy with what you are doing. Being happy with the decisions you are making. Those who choose to make decisions based on popular opinion, ie. the way I used to be, are choosing to ignore the opposite side of life. This theory has taught me to be more open minded, where many think that I am completely closed minded.  Many have me confused with somebody that came into the game of hip-hop with no knowledge of its origins or its roots. A person who only has respect for the underground, and while that respect aspect is definitely true, I have seen a great deal in hip-hop but only recently, within the past 6 or 7 years have I gotten involved with hip-hop in the city of Chicago. Before that I was very much into rappers with the likes of Master P, and 2 pac.  I have seen that part of hip-hop and I enjoyed it for a time.  Looking into hip-hop deeper, as I eventually chose to do,  I found its major problems, and where they stemmed from, and noticed that it was people like me contributing to music that did nothing for the improvement of society that was and still is fucking it up today.
Today, hip-hop is not made for the improvement of people, or for the poor, as it originally began, today, hip-hop is SOLD to teenage kids through videos, cars, chains, sex, drugs, and alcohol.  Major labels and major corporations now dictate to you and I what we are able to listen to, and limit it to that. There is no "outside the lines" in radio, there is no "open mindedness" or "breaking new ground", as there used to be, in radio, commercial radio today has become a brainwashing tool, and to this day there are many who don't see how, or why that is the case, and that is the exact reason it has become what it is.  The cover-up aspect from the likes of Clear Channel and the FCC has been flawless, so much to the extent that people would actually go to buy satellite radios just to hear the exact same thing they would hear on normal radio stations except without commercials.  WNUR has and always will be a station that continues its drive to increase the quality of its programming, and produce shows with meaning, playing songs that will expose the music that doesn't get exposed in the mainstream but should, music that people can relate to, music that makes people open their mind to new things, new ideas, new cultures, and new standards for radio.
I will be using this site to keep all my fans and friends up to date on current issues and events, along with posting information on protests and any uprisings that may and should begin to develop as the Bush war machine once again picks up steam, and prepears for new wars with N. Korea, Iran, and Libya. Some people may be asking where's all the glamour and glitz that you normally see in a web page, and I say fuck all that, this aint no corporate web site this is my shit, and anybody who knows me knows im a level headed and low key cat.
Finally to all my listeners and callers, I always appreciate your support and your uplifting attitudes. Id like to leave you with a message that will always be on this site til the end. It is imperative that we stop fighting each other and stop killing each other. Killing does nobody any benefit, it only adds to the power and wealth of the people that love to see it happen, ie. the government who makes money off of making new laws for us, and big corporations, who also make money on the death and destruction of you and I after we kill each other with guns especially. If nobody ever learned anything from me, I just want them to take that from me. Please stop the violence on each other and focus on fighting the real enemy, the people that have systematically controlled us since day 1. The people that give us jobs that pay 6 dollars an hour while they make 600. The people that make racist laws like making powder cocaine a misdemeanor while crack cocaine is a felony. The people that not only exploit us in our own country but the many millions that they exploit overseas as they pollute their air with the same levels of Co2 as we have in our country. So let's fight the real enemy, and
